Work Experience

ATCO Gas — Alberta Trailer Company
Engineering Co-op Student · Edmonton, AB
  • Led development and ongoing management of a land-acquisition app (LAR), integrating Power Platform and Teams chatbots to automate updates and keep SharePoint data current.
  • Built modular Power Automate workflows, Power Apps, and Power BI dashboards to improve project tracking, data visibility, and decision-making.
  • Developed custom alternatives to premium Power Platform features:
    • Replicated environment-variable functionality in Power Automate flows.
    • Bypassed SharePoint's 5,000-item retrieval limit in connected Power Apps.
    • Modified approval flows to extract real-time data without premium licences.
  • Built Python automations, Excel/VBA tools, and scheduled scripts to connect disconnected business systems and cut repetitive manual work.
  • Conducted UAT for SABER, a full-lifecycle project management application, identifying bugs and recommending usability improvements.
  • Managed feature development, testing, user support, and documentation across multiple automation projects; created training materials and mentored incoming co-op students.

Behavioral Classification & Prediction Model for Automated Mouse Conditioning

Apr 2026
Python · FastAPI · PySide6 · pytest · Linux

Testing & QA Lead — built a shift-left testing strategy across REST APIs, ML services, PostgreSQL, the GUI, and hardware integrations.

Maintained 300+ automated GUI tests (pytest / pytest-qt), reaching over 90% coverage. Integrated a FastAPI ML service with a 20-cluster Gaussian Mixture Model that automated mouse phenotyping, scaling one researcher from 4 mice to dozens.

Delivered the hardware deployment for ~$200 CAD — about 79% under budget.

Personality Shift Simulator

Jan 2025
PyTorch · scikit-learn · pandas

Deep learning system predicting personality and behavioural change from simulated lifestyle interventions, comparing MLP, conditional VAE, and classical baselines.

Low-Latency ASR Pipeline

Ongoing
CTranslate2 · CUDA · faster-whisper · Docker

Dockerized, GPU-accelerated Whisper pipeline — diagnosed missing CUDA libraries and rebuilt the container, cutting transcription latency ~3×. Tuned INT8 quantization for Pascal-era GPUs and built a local voice-AI stack integrated with Home Assistant.

Kubernetes Deployment & Orchestration

Mar 2023
Kubernetes · Docker · Minikube

Deployed containerized apps across pods, services, and multi-node scheduling. Compared blue-green vs. canary rollout strategies for safety and rollback behaviour.

Obituary Portal

Apr 2023
React · Terraform · AWS Lambda · DynamoDB

Full-stack platform using ChatGPT to generate obituaries with Amazon Polly narration. Infrastructure provisioned via Terraform across DynamoDB, S3, and Cloudinary.

Urbanlytics — Smarter Living Through Data

Nov 2025
Next.js · TypeScript · Leaflet · Tailwind

Geospatial platform combining crime, air quality, housing, and demographic data through interactive heat maps and neighbourhood boundaries.

Placed 12th of 200+ teams — Hack the Change YYC 2025

NoisyBoy — Mute the World

Nov 2023
Python · SketchUp

Noise-cancellation prototype using frequency analysis and inverse-frequency generation, modelled as a physical product concept in SketchUp.
